KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE POST OF FACT CHECKER

a) Digital Media Monitoring:

• Continuously monitor all major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube etc.)
• Track emerging narratives, trends and potential misinformation related to ECP.
• Develop real-time tracking mechanisms for viral content and emerging ECP discourse.
• Identify and categorize potential sources of misinformation.

b) Fact-Checking and Verification:

• Systematically verify claims, statements and narratives circulating on digital platforms.
• Cross-reference information with official sources, electoral data and authenticated records.
• Develop detailed fact-checking reports with clear evidence and source citations.
• Maintain best practice protocols for addressing electoral misinformation.

c) Reporting and Communication:

• Produce daily / weekly comprehensive reports on digital media trends.
• Prepare immediate alerts for critical misinformation that may impact electoral integrity.
• Collaborate with Spokespersons or PRO to develop strategic rebuttals.
• Maintain a centralized database of validated or debunked claims.
