The Education Testing Council (ETC) is conducting the Law Admission Test (LAT) for students seeking admission to undergraduate LLB Degree Programmes in HEC/PBC recognized public or private universities/institutions or affiliated colleges having valid affiliation with public sector universities.
The test is conducted in compliance with the directions of the Honorable Supreme Court vide its Order dated March 6, 2018 and Judgment dated August 31, 2018 passed in C.P.134/2012.
Who Can Apply for LAT?
Students who have:
- Passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent examination (12 years education).
- Appeared in the final HSSC or equivalent examination and are awaiting their results.

How to Apply
- Visit http://etc.hec.gov.pk for online registration.
- If you face any issue during registration, visit https://onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk.
- After completing the registration form, submit the application. Only submitted applications will be accepted.
- Applications in Save or Incomplete mode will not be considered.
- Resolve all registration-related queries before the registration deadline.
- Carefully verify your personal details (Name, CNIC, Mobile Number, etc.) before submitting.
- Candidates whose application details do not match their CNIC will not be allowed to appear in the test.
- Applications submitted using the CNIC of parents, siblings, relatives, or any other individual are not acceptable.
- Test fee can be paid through 1Link/1Bill Invoice Payment Service using the generated consumer number.
- After payment, click Verify Online Payment on the ETC Dashboard.
- Test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Roll Number Slips will be available at http://etc.hec.gov.pk and sent to the registered email approximately one week before the test.
- Email/SMS notifications will also be sent regarding Roll Number Slips. Applicants should provide valid email and mobile numbers.
- On the test day, candidates must bring:
- Printed Roll Number Slip
- Original CNIC/Passport
- Candidates under 18 years without CNIC must bring their B-Form along with original SSC/HSSC certificate bearing their photograph.
- Applicants may select any available test center during registration. Test centers cannot be changed later. However, ETC may assign another center if fewer than 250 applicants are registered at the selected center.
Important Instructions
- Mobile phones and electronic devices such as calculators, recording devices, communication devices, or imaging devices are strictly prohibited inside the test center.
- Taking, uploading, or sharing images of the question paper is strictly prohibited and is punishable under ETC rules.
