The Education Testing Council (ETC) is conducting the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) for candidates intending to apply for Commonwealth, Chinese Government, and other HEC Scholarships for MS/M.Phil. and Ph.D./Doctoral Programs.

Qualifying Score and Validity
- Qualifying Score: 60 out of 100.
- Validity: Test score is valid for 2 years.
Test Schedule
- Online Registration Opens: Sunday, July 19, 2026
- Last Date to Apply: Monday, August 03, 2026 (24:00 hours)
- Test Date: Sunday, August 30, 2026
How to Apply?
- Visit http://etc.hec.gov.pk for online registration.
- If you face difficulties, visit https://onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk.
- Submit the application after completing registration. Saved or incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Resolve all registration-related queries before the registration deadline.
- Ensure your CNIC, name, and mobile number are correct before submission.
- Candidates registered using the CNIC of parents, siblings, relatives, or any other person are not eligible to appear in the test.
- Pay the fee through 1Link/1Bill using the generated consumer number.
- Download the Roll Number Slip from http://etc.hec.gov.pk about one week before the test.
- Bring:
- Printed Roll Number Slip
- Original CNIC/Passport
- Test centers are available in major cities of Pakistan.
- Choose your HAT category carefully. It cannot be changed after submission.
Important Instructions
- Mobile phones, calculators, recording devices, communication devices, and imaging devices are NOT ALLOWED inside the test center.
- Taking, uploading, or sharing images of the question paper is strictly prohibited and punishable under ETC policy.
